Shakey’s Philippines’ official website was compromised by hackers. I came across this spreading update today that Shakey’s website was hacked and I got to see it myself. I managed to grab some screencaps too.
Basically, not really much of fancy things happened. The hacker just posted some pun and ridiculous posts in the website’s News and Updates section. Incidentally, the posts mention Shakey’s rival Pizza Hut. Based on the “articles” posted, the unauthorized website manipulation started in December 25, 2010 with 2 succeeding posts in 1/1/2011 and 1/8/2011 respectively. Although dates can be easily changed with the Hacker’s control over the website’s admin panel it it not a distant possibility that the culprit has been digging through the website’s files since last year.
As of today, I can’t see any further damaged made to the website aside from those absurd posts. Maybe the perpetrator is just having some good time tinkering Shakey’s website and no other keener intentions or it might be the other way around.
