Here is the gig schedule of the much awaited series of concerts all over the Philippines brought by Tanduay, the Tanduay First Five 2010 Nationwide Concert Tour. Five of the country’s best talents in the local alternative/rock music scene (6 CycleMind, Chicosci, Sandwich, Kamikazee and Bamboo) gather to bring a one-night only all-in-one concert in key cities nationwide. This concert tour series was conceptualized last year for Tanduay’s 155 years in the liquor industry.

Recently I was busy setting up our new food blog aptly called The Foodie’s Choice (www.thefoodieschoice.com). This is a new food blog born out of the thought of sharing the food hunting experiences we had here in Iloilo and in the whole Philippines in general. This is actually a collaboration between Aileen and me where she do most of the writings (I might also write sometimes:)) and I am in charge of the photography to make the blog look even more delicious.

The election day is barely 10 days from now and some of us still cannot make up their minds on who really are the right candidates and parties to vote for. Many of us decided to vote for whom because our minds are conditioned and boxed by the surveys and TV ads these politicos are paying for to make them the champions.

Here is the list of winners of the Aliwan Fiesta 2010 competitions held in Manila. Iloilo dominated again the Aliwan Fiesta this year with three contingents namely; Dinagyang Festival – Iloilo City, Kasag Festival – Banate, Iloilo, and Paraw Regatta Festival – Iloilo City. Eventually Dinagyang Festival emerged as this year’s grand champion bagging the P1,000,00.00 cash prize from Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) and the crown. And Kasag Festival landed as the 3rd runner up with Zamboanga’s Hermosa Festival as the 2nd runner up.

SuTuKil which stands for Sugba (grilled), Tula (stewed) and Kilaw (prepared raw in vinegar) is one of the signature offering of Cebu to the seafood gourmands. It is a touristy experience to try because everything has been too much commercialized; the fresh seafood is just priced so high based on my experience with other similar restaurants in Roxas City and Iloilo. Nevertheless, still a worth trying experience when in Cebu.
