It’s been 26 days since President Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III sworn to office as the Philippine’s 15th President and now he is giving his first State of the Nation Address (SONA). President Aquino’s first SONA was held today July 26th at Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City. It has been much awaited because as reported President Aquino is disclosing so much of the controversies and problems he inherited from the previous administration of Gloria Arroyo and of course how he’ll be dealing with them.

The first time I went to Cebu I did not spared the chance of visiting the famous significant historical landmark, the Mactan Shrine. Mactan Shrine or also known as Liberty Shrine lies on the ground where the actual battle took place between the Spaniards led by Ferdinand Magellan and the locals led by Lapu – lapu. The brave Filipino hero and his men repelled the Spanish invaders, killing famous navigator Ferdinand Magellan in April 27, 1521. Thus, Lapu – lapu became the first Filipino hero in the history.
