Knowing about the DigitalFilipino bloggers’ event in Bacolod made me excited but then I’ve no one to go with me. As luck would have it one of my friend over at SSC who is also a blogger prompted me if I’m going with them in Bacolod, I did not confirm my attendance at that time yet. I begun then to tackle it to myself, considering the cost of going to Bacolod over the great experience I would get in the event as a blogger. To cut it out, I went with them but unluckily my friend Alvin who first cued me, declined to go with us due to some commitments in school.
DigitalFilipino has been very aggressive in promoting and introducing e-commerce to the Filipinos. Started by Ms. Janette Toral in September 17, 1999 and until now it has grown in club members around the country mostly comprised of SMEs and businesses that want the advancement of e-commerce in the industry. This year DigitalFilipino devised a series of roadshows around the country reaching out for its club members, bloggers and e-commerce enthusiasts which kicked off in Bacolod last July 4, 2009. The first leg was sponsored by PAGCOR one of its club members.
It was a night of networking and fellowship among bloggers from Bacolod and Iloilo. The event was held at the Lobby Lounge of Hotel PAGCOR Bacolod. PAGCOR sponsored a sumptuous buffet dinner with matching acoustic band serenading everyone in the hall. Freebies from PAGCOR and DigitalFilipino’s club members flowed in. But not everyone got it as it was raffled. We were served also with bottles of beer to compliment the beautiful unlaxing ambience of the event. For the first time I’ve met Iloilo Bloggers in Bacolod. It was kinda odd because we are living in one city, one island but we we met for the first time in other place. But then it was great to meet Marcos, Enrico Dee, Junelle (gave me Iloilo Bloggers Shirt), MJ, Tim, Claire and of course the lady behind all these, Ms. Janette Toral who isn’t a member of Iloilo Bloggers by the way. It was my first time also to enter a Casino although i’m not really interested into it but just for experience’ sake anyway each of us got a coupon to spare at the gaming tables of PAGCOR. After assimilating our senses inside the Casino Enrico, Marcos, Ajay, Audrey and I went to unwind in a chic Cafe Bobs along Lacson St. in Bacolod. Thanks to Eric for the treat and Ajay for the delectable desserts you shared with us. Then we went to Enrico’s place to spend the rest of the night.
Below are some pictures of the event.
