Recently I was busy setting up our new food blog aptly called The Foodie’s Choice (www.thefoodieschoice.com). This is a new food blog born out of the thought of sharing the food hunting experiences we had here in Iloilo and in the whole Philippines in general. This is actually a collaboration between Aileen and me where she do most of the writings (I might also write sometimes:)) and I am in charge of the photography to make the blog look even more delicious.

SuTuKil which stands for Sugba (grilled), Tula (stewed) and Kilaw (prepared raw in vinegar) is one of the signature offering of Cebu to the seafood gourmands. It is a touristy experience to try because everything has been too much commercialized; the fresh seafood is just priced so high based on my experience with other similar restaurants in Roxas City and Iloilo. Nevertheless, still a worth trying experience when in Cebu.

Cebu Trip March 2010 Day 1

Last March 19 we were scheduled for a 3-day Cebu trip which we booked earlier in January to get 50%  off on our airfares via the flunk Cebu Pacific Air. It was early in the morning so Aileen and I decided to just have the breakfast in the airport which we had it at JD Bakeshop in the terminal lounge. We left Iloilo earlier than our 9:05 am flight, something not as I expected because Cebu Pacific would ALWAYS be delayed. Sounds perking up, after more than 30 minutes of flying, we landed at the Cebu-Mactan International Airport. It was  actually my first time to set foot in Cebu, so to make the most of our time in Cebu we immediately headed to the hotel to check in. We stayed at the Sampaguita Suites along Mango Avenue, just a stone throw away from Fuente Osmena. Other establishments near Sampaguita Suites are Robinsons Place Cebu just across, Raintree Mall and Mango Square.

Pancake is one of my favorite American noshes especially when I have the lavishness of pouring in more syrups in as much as I want to. Iloilo Krystal Ice Halo – Halo is a restaurant in Iloilo that specializes in their most luscious Ice Cream and Halo – Halo available in town.
